About the session:

Are you an ECT or teacher new to delivering fieldwork? Do you want support to build confidence in fieldwork skills and delivery? Field Studies Council and the Royal Geographical Society (RGS-IBG) are offering this joint CPD session to help build a toolkit for teachers to support delivery of high-quality fieldwork.

The day will consist of practical activities and advice on how to conduct successful fieldwork in both human and physical studies. Lunch is provided within the course fee.

During your course you will be welcomed to the centre and given an appropriate health and safety briefing. The session will start with a brief introduction to planning fieldwork opportunities and then a local river site to practice risk assessment, group management strategies and making suitable measurements.  After a cooked lunch provided by the centre, you will learn about fieldwork techniques and methods that can be used to investigate a local place and how to complete the route to enquiry.

Tickets are £150 per person. Lunch is included in the ticket price.
