Database upgrade affecting online services
The Society is upgrading its membership database over the next two months to help improve our communications and services to members and other contacts.
The new database will be connected to the Society’s website, changing the way members sign in to the online Members’ Area and book events, and offering the ability to update information such as contact details, mailing preferences, interests and membership renewals in one place online. We are excited about the new functionality it will bring and we hope you will see notable improvements too as we add new functionality over the next few years.
In order to migrate all the data and get the new software appropriately configured, please take careful note of the following arrangements as regards access to the Members’ Area of the website, online booking of events, and 2013 membership subscription renewals:
- The Members’ Only section of the website will remain available to existing members throughout the migration period, but not to any new members joining in the period between 2 March 2013 and 8 April 2013 who wish to register for the Members’ Area. All members will be contacted once the new system is in place to provide guidance and instructions on logging onto the Members’ Area
- With the exception of the Young Members’ microlectures event on 27 March 2013, online booking of all other events will not be available from 5.00pm on 1 March 2013 until 8 April 2013. The Summer 2013 Bulletin and the ‘What’s on’ section of the website provide details of which events are available to book, and how to book events by phone or by post, during that period
- The facility to renew 2013 membership subscriptions online will stop at approximately 4.00am on 1 March 2013. If you have not already renewed your subscription by then, please contact the Membership Office on +44 (0)20 7591 3080 to renew by credit/debit card or cheque
Thank you for your understanding during this period, and we will keep you updated via future e-updates and the website as the new system is rolled out.
