Project Coordinator: Ambassadors and Higher Education Partnership

The Society seeks a skilled individual who will be responsible for the project coordination and delivery of the Society’s work with its Geography Ambassador programme, regional Higher Educational partnership, and the development of online and printed materials to promote the relevance of studying geography at school to further study and careers. 

This role would suit a geographer with high level organisational and communication skills and a strong desire to promote the value of geography to school pupils and their teachers through partnerships with university students and academics.

This is a permanent, full time post, based at the Society's headquarters in South Kensington, London. This position will be appointed in the range of £27,355 to £29,000 per annum.

Manager: Educational Professional Support (full time maternity cover)

The Society seeks a manager to provide maternity cover for its educational support, which spans the provision of CPD training and other events, development of online resources, the Society’s Schools Membership scheme and the professional accreditation of teachers as Chartered Geographers.

This is a fixed term maternity cover position, subject to the successful completion of a probationary period of four months. The salary range for this position is £30,022 to £32,441 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in South Kensington, London.

Press Officer

We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong communications skills and experience of working in a press office to join the Society’s small communications team. The Press Officer is a new role dedicated to raising awareness of geography and the Society’s activities through the media.

This is a permanent, full time post subject to the successful completion of a probationary period of three months. The salary range for this post is £28,193 to £30,267 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in South Kensington, London.

We are seeking a talented and experienced writer to join the Society’s small communications team. The Communications Officer is a new role dedicated to writing content about the Society’s activities and geography for the breadth of our communications channels. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience of writing for a variety of audiences, including members.

This is a permanent, full time post subject to the successful completion of a probationary period of three months. The salary range is £27,372 to £29,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in South Kensington, London.

The Society offers a work experience programme for enthusiastic geographers, who are studying geography at university and also for geography ambassadors.

All placements are unpaid and based in London at RGS-IBG. We do not pay expenses or provide accommodation.
