Membership Administrative Assistant

The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) is seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Administrative Assistant for its Membership Office. The Membership Office provides an efficient service to members in the administration of their membership records and subscriptions; and provides support to staff across the Society in their membership recruitment and retention activities.

This is a permanent appointment, salaried between £20,476 and £21,764 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

Audio Visual Technician

The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual with proven expertise in Audio Visual (AV) services and strong communications skills, to fully manage the Society’s AV equipment and service provision. This is a vital role within the Society, upholding our reputation for excellent events.

This post is a permanent, full time post subject to successful completion of a probationary period of four months. The salary range for this post is £27,000 to £29,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

Administration Officer: Geography Outdoors

The Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) seeks a member of staff to support the work of Geography Outdoors: the centre supporting field research, exploration and outdoor learning, which provides information, advice and training to anyone wishing to undertake these activities either in the UK or overseas. The centre is part of the Society’s Education and Outdoor Learning Department.

This is a full-time permanent appointment subject to successful completion of a four-month probationary period. The post will be salaried between £23,079 to £24,362 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

Senior Public Affairs Manager

The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and the Association for Geographic Information are seeking to appoint, as part of a new strategic alliance, a dynamic, experienced and knowledgeable Senior Public Affairs Manager to raise the profile and understanding of geographic information and its applications in the public and private sectors, in the context of ‘big data’ and other contemporary policy agendas. 
 
This is a two-year fixed term post, subject to successful completion of a probationary period of four months, which may be extended subject to funding. The appointment will be made in the salary range of £52,000 to £58,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. You will have an excellent aptitude for fostering knowledge exchange between academic, business, government communities and practitioner communities, a sound understanding of geographic information applications and the interpretation of geographical data, and you may have experience in the policy sector or parliamentary affairs.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual with strong communications skills to assist the Society in raising awareness of geography and the Society’s activities through the media, and to communicate effectively with its stakeholders, particularly through publications for Fellows and members.

This is a permanent, full time post subject to successful completion of a probationary period of four months. The salary range for this post is £27,372 to £28,987 per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.
