"Throughout my academic career, the RGS-IBG has provided me with a wonderful mix of support - the library, lectures, the map room, fieldwork and expeditions - and a legacy enables one to try and repay an immense debt." Andrew Goudie, Fellow
The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is embarking on a new phase of planned growth. Now and in the future we will continue to lead exciting new developments in education, fieldwork and expeditions, policy, public engagement and research.
We receive no core funding from government. Legacies represent a vital source of income for the Society. Legacy donations are exempt from inheritance tax as we are a registered charity.
Remember the Society in your will
A legacy for general purposes is the greatest way that you can safeguard our future work. Unrestricted legacy income can be used to support our full range of education, scientific and research work, as well as maintaining our historic and contemporary collections.
We are grateful for any legacy gift, large or small. Find out more about leaving a gift to the Society by downloading our Legacy leaflet. For an informal and confidential discussion about how to support the Society through a legacy gift please contact the Development Office:
