Policy advisory group

Seventeen geographers have joined an expert group advising the RGS-IBG on how to develop its policy work.

As well as academic geographers, the group includes researchers from think-tanks and experts in government and multilateral agencies e.g.:

  • Department for Communities and Local Government
  • Department for International Development
  • Environment Agency
  • European Commission
  • Home Office
  • Natural England
  • UN
  • UK Parliament

The informal group is part of the Society’s strategy to facilitate knowledge transfer into public policy.

Building on current work, the aim of this initiative is to reach out more fully and pro-actively, and in new ways, to relevant policy arenas.

If you would like to suggest topics or for potential policy projects, please contact us.
