Regional CPD opportunities

As part of Chartered Geographer (Teacher) accreditation, we host free regional CPD and mentoring networks. Teachers who have not yet reached their 6 required years of teaching can collect evidence towards CGeog (Teacher). This will include CPD opportunities in local areas.

Various fieldwork CPD events are being held in the coming months. More details

Bullet  Networks

Birmingham, Newcastle and Southampton
The Chartered Geographer (Teacher) scheme is providing 3 Advanced Google Earth courses in November. More details

Various UK locations
Free Google Earth courses for LEA Maintained schools are being run throughout the UK in 2008 and 2009. More details

South Ribble, Lancashire
Ben Ward, a CGeog (Teacher) from Penwortham Girls High School, leads a network for local Geography teachers in Lancashire. More details

Bromley, Kent
With the help of Martin Crabbe, a CGeog (Teacher) from Glebe School, we have developed a CPD network in Bromley based around sustainability and fieldwork. More details

Chesterfield, Derbyshire
The first event in this region took place in January 2008, and our CGeog (Teacher) Adrian Taylor from St Mary's High School is creating a network of local schools. More details

Brighton and Hove
Graham Goldup and Maria Larkin from Cardinal Newman Catholic School are running numerous CPD events over the coming year as part of their network. More details

Bristol
Garry Atterton from the Castle School and Mark Jones from UWE, both CGeogs, are running CPD events in the Bristol region. More details

Birmingham
Bob Lang and Paula Cooper, both CGeogs from King Edward VI Fiveways School, are developing a Greater Birmingham CPD network. More details
