Professional Self-Evaluation

Professional Self-Evaluation is the most important part of a Chartered Geographer application. Each applicant should make an explicit case as to why they want to become a Chartered Geographer.

The evaluation should:

Bullet  be typed and no more than 1000 words

Bullet  clearly describe all relevant experience and show how this constitutes a case for Chartered Geographer. It should not just be an extension of your CV

Bullet  clearly demonstrate professional experience and how you have applied geographical skills and knowledge

Bullet  provide evidence of a passion for geography and proof of advancing geography outside of the normal work requirements

Bullet  show a commitment to Continuing Professional Development

Bullet  explicitly justify why you wish to become a Chartered Geographer and how you will use the post-nominal in the future. Applications that do not mention Geography or Chartered Geographer will not be accepted.

For further guidance please see the examples to the right or contact the Professional Officer.
