Professional Self-Evaluation is the most important part of a Chartered Geographer application. Each applicant should make an explicit case as to why they want to become a Chartered Geographer.
The evaluation should:
be typed and no more than 1000 words
clearly describe all relevant experience and show how this constitutes a case for Chartered Geographer. It should not just be an extension of your CV
clearly demonstrate professional experience and how you have applied geographical skills and knowledge
provide evidence of a passion for geography and proof of advancing geography outside of the normal work requirements
show a commitment to Continuing Professional Development
explicitly justify why you wish to become a Chartered Geographer and how you will use the post-nominal in the future. Applications that do not mention Geography or Chartered Geographer will not be accepted.
