Ever wanted to see Britain’s most beautiful landscapes and heritage sites from the air? Take a trip to Chatham town centre this spring and see more than 80 stunning large-scale images, taken from all around the country by Britain’s foremost aerial photographers.

Britain from the Air is a major national touring exhibition offering an exhilarating perspective of some of the UK’s most breathtaking and thought provoking landscapes and landmarks, from the well known to the less familiar.

Since its launch in 2010 Britain from the Air has visited Bath and Oxford and has been seen by more than 4.5million people. The free street gallery appeals to all ages and allows for repeat visits.

The exhibition, organised by wecommunic8 and the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), will now go on display throughout Chatham town centre from 31 March 2012 until 18 June 2012 – including Military Road, the High Street, The Paddock and inside the Pentagon Shopping Centre.

Medway Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Alan Jarrett, said: “We are extremely proud that Medway has been added to the list of major towns and cities to host this exciting exhibition as part of our Year of Celebration.

"We believe it will make a stunning impact on the town centre and encourage many visitors to our High Street and shops in the coming months”.

Dr Rita Gardner, Director of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) added: "A unique value in the exhibition lies in its ability to help everyone to appreciate Britain and understand more about how natural forces and people have shaped its landscapes for millennia.

"As people take in this view of Britain as they've never seen it before, we hope it will inspire them to get out and about around the country and see for themselves the wonders of our islands."

The Society and WeCommunic8 Ltd gratefully acknowledge lead partner sponsorship from The Osborne Property Group which enabled Oxford Castle to act as the exhibition’s host. In addition, the Society would like to thank Ordnance Survey and Rolex for their support in relation to the exhibition and to thank and recognise the Oxford Preservation Trust for its significant donation towards the exhibition and its selection of the Oxford images and their interpretation.
