Immerse yourself in more than 120 free musical performances and interactive workshops!
London’s annual contribution to European Music Day takes place in June each year (the 2011 event has been cancelled but it will resume in 2012) on Exhibition Road, where the world’s leading arts, cultural, scientific and academic organisations join together to bring you a day of vibrant sounds from around the globe.
Celebrating the diversity of international culture in the area, a huge range of indoor and outdoor stages (pending funding each year) host a variety of musical performances and workshops from urban, folk, jazz and rock to classical and opera.
Music Day is a rare opportunity to catch bands, for free, before many embark on the summer music festival circuit.

The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is part of the Exhibition Road Cultural Group and has taken part in Music Day for the past four years and looks forward to many more.
It is an opportunity for us to welcome new audiences to the building, for them to find out more about the Society and enjoy musical performances in a stunning setting.
In addition, our Geography Ambassadors are always on hand to help with any questions and have set the benchmark high in 2010 with a wonderful array of activities for people of all ages.
