Be part of Explore 2012

There are lots of ways to get involved in Explore and we are always keen to hear from new speakers and returning expeditions who would like to contribute.

Bullet Speakers

Over the weekend we have around 100 speakers on hand to support delegates through all aspects of their expedition planning.

Opportunities for speaking vary. Some speakers most familiar with Explore give lectures on the main stage. These cover expedition planning, logistics, health and safety, as well as more specific case studies of recent expeditions.

Other speakers are involved in our workshops. Workshop panellists could be students, academics, expedition professionals or adventurers. We look for inspirational individuals who can offer case studies and give tailored advice to delegates.

If you have recently returned from expedition or feel you have particular expertise in any of the workshop areas covered, email us with details of your expedition and a brief profile of yourself.

Bullet Research posters

On the Saturday of Explore, returned expeditions are invited to present a research poster of their expedition. The session acts as a speed networking event, where research teams have two minutes to present their posters to delegates before they move on to the next.

If you have returned from an expedition and would like to promote your findings or tell others about your project, send through a paragraph about your field researchproject.

Bullet Advice desks - Communicating your discoveries

We are keen to encourage expeditions to share what they have learnt. This may be during time in the field or on return to the UK. Last year we brought along artists, photographers, social networking experts and web designers to share with us some of their work at a special advice desk.

If you have an innovative way of documenting your journeys, we would like to hear from you.

Bullet Promoting Explore

If you have been to Explore before, help us spread the word! Blog, tweet, write articles, speak at events.

If you would like any posters, flyers or a copy of a current press release please contact Geography Outdoors

Bullet Exhibiting/advertising

Do not forget – we always love to encourage new organisations, charities and businesses to get involved at Explore. Explore is a great place to make contacts, demonstrate innovative products or gain new audiences.

For more information see the Explore Exhibitors page.

For more information, or to suggest how you could be involved, please email go@rgs.org or phone us on 020 7951 3030.
