Paul Rose and the team behind BBC Two's flagship series Oceans, share their discoveries beneath the world's great oceans from the Arctic to the Tropics.
Saturday 22 November: expedition planning & logistics Morning lectures cover:
- Project planning and organisation
- Marketing and PR
- How to raise the funds
- Health and safety in the field
- Communication and navigation
- Inclusive expeditions
- Insurance and legal liability
- Risk Assessment & safety management
Afternoon logistics workshops include mountaineering, tropical forest, polar, desert, and marine.
One-to-one advice sessions and lectures also take place.
The Explorers' bar in the evening is the time to make contacts and share experiences.
Sunday 23 November: ideas for field research & expedition skills
Lectures cover:
- Designing a research project
- Working with the host country
- Survey and mapping
- Communicating your discoveries
- Environmental impact
- Society Expedition & Research grants
Fieldwork & skills workshops both morning and afternoon include human, earth and biological sciences, schools and expeditions, mapping and surveying, photography and film-making.
One-to-one advice sessions and lectures also take place.
