Basic Canopy Access Proficiency (BCAP) Course
Want to explore the rainforest canopy? The Basic Canopy Access Proficiency course is a unique opportunity to learn the basics of roped access to the canopy and provides the skills necessary to carry out a range of novel projects in the world’s treetops. This is an extremely intensive hands-on course. You will require a good level of fitness and an aptitude for working at height.
Safety awareness training for overseas travellers
Day courses every Wednesday, from July to February, in London and Edinburgh. The course is designed to allow gap year travellers or expedition members the confidence to gain maximum benefit from their travels, secure in the knowledge that they can deal with problems of security. Through an intensive 7-hour programme, the course teaches young people to recognize potential hazards before they can disrupt plans or develop into something more serious. Places limited to 15 per course.
WildPhotos
Wildscreen organises an annual two-day symposium for both professional and amateur photographers. There is no other event in the UK which brings together a group of such world-class photographers. Speakers often include Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008 winners.
Train to be a desert leader
Held in the Sinai desert over two weeks, the course aims to provide you with the training and experience necessary to prepare you to lead desert expeditions in a sustainable and responsible way. Expedition and Fieldwork safety training
Fieldskills run a range of courses including tropical forest, desert, mountain and savannah safety courses as well as courses in planning and leading expeditions. The courses are suitable if you are going overseas as a leader, teacher or to undertake fieldwork.
