Through the International Leadersip and Capacity Building programme, we will initiate and support new collaborative field partnership in Africa, Asia and Latin America, particularly in Ecuador, Indonesia and Uganda.
Examples of work the Society has previously supported in these countries can by found in the links on the right. Examples of 5,000+ other projects can be found on our expeditions database.
In addition, there are many international field centres undertaking relevant research in each of these countries. For details of over 300 international field centres please follow the link on the right.
Key elements of our work will be to support the development of local capacity building to help sustain in-country support for field research and to develop an international network through which good practice can be disseminated. This network will drawn on the expertise and contribution of local and international NGOs, field centres and universities. It will also include individuals currently supported through the ILCB bursaries, past holders of these bursaries, alongside case studies of other individuals whose experience can be shared.
As well as the ILCB bursaries the Society provides a range of other grants supporting field research alongside other activities. Please see the link on the right for further details.
