Postgraduate Research Grants
Several awards of £2,000 for PhD fieldwork/ data collection. Deadline: November 2010
Geographical Club Award
A single award of £1,000 for a postgraduate student to undertake fieldwork or data collection. Deadline: November 2010
Dudley Stamp Memorial Award
Several awards of up to £500 for PhD students or early career researchers undertaking research overseas. Deadline: 28 February
Hong Kong Research Grant
An annual award of £2,500 for PhD fieldwork and research in the greater China region. Deadline: November 2010
Monica Cole Research Grant
A single grant of £1,000 for a female physical geographer undergraduate or postgraduate student undertaking fieldwork overseas. Deadline: 22 January 2010
Henrietta Hutton Research Grants
Two grants of £500 for female undergraduate or postgraduate students under 25 years of age undertaking field research overseas. Deadline: 22 January 2010
Slawson Awards
Two to three awards of up to £3,000 for PhD research in developing countries. Deadline: 28 February 2010
Frederick Soddy Postgraduate Award
Up to £6,000 to support a PhD student/group of PhD students carrying out fieldwork/research on ‘the study of the social, economic, and cultural life of a region’, anywhere in the world. Deadline: 28 February 2010
Geographical Fieldwork Grants
Several awards of up to £3,000 for undergraduates or researchers working in teams on overseas fieldwork. Deadline: 22 January 2010 / 18 June 2010
British Airways Travel Bursaries
Free return flights for postgraduate conservation-related research or field work. Deadline: TBC
