Research grants

Each year, the Society supports a range of field and desk-based research projects, from established researchers undertaking cutting edge fieldwork to early career academics working on smaller projects. We also support early career academics attending geographical conferences.

Our grants for researchers range from £500 to £15,000. Some awards focus on particular geographical regions or topics, while others are open to applications on any aspect of the discipline.
