Academic books & journals

In association with Wiley-Blackwell, the Society publishes three prestigious peer-reviewed research journals and a Book Series.

  Area - exploring innovative themes and supporting new researchers

  The Geographical Journal (GJ) - focusing on public debates, policy-oriented agendas and notions of 'relevance'.

  Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers (TIBG) - publishing landmark articles which advance the discipline

  RGS-IBG Book Series - research monographs that make significant contributions to geography

Contributions to all three journals and the Book Series are welcomed.

All submissions for the journals should be made via Manuscript Central, while details on the submission procedure for books can be found on the Book Series homepage.

Along with Wiley-Blackwell, the Society is a partner of Online Access to Research in the Environment (OARE).

An international public-private consortium coordinated by the United Nations Environment Programme, Yale University, and leading science and technology publishers, OARE enables institutions in more than 100 low income countries to gain access to over 2,990 peer reviewed journals publishing environmental science research.
