Vacancy: Research Assistant, UCL

 
Research Assistant – Spatial interaction modelling, geodemographics and widening participation in the higher education sector, University College London

The Department of Geography at UCL is looking to recruit a Researcher/ Programmer to work on a project associated with the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis which examines the integration of socioeconomic and demographic (geodemographic) information within spatial interaction models for use in Higher Education research

Geodemographics are small area measures of neighbourhood conditions, and spatial interaction models provide a computer programming framework for analysing the flows of goods and services between areas

The successful candidate will be a very competent programmer, with experience in the management and statistical analysis of large databases using desktop or web based software

The post has funding for 12 months and is due to commence as soon as possible after the 1st October 2008. Salary for this post will be £27,784 p.a ( inclusive of London Allowance ) on UCL Grade 6
