Description The development of a multidisciplinary programme of research and community outreach on social sustainability and environmental management in the oil producing communities of the Niger Delta.

Level Activities in this partnership involve students and academics at both universities

Aim To improve the capacity of civil society to influence social and environmental policies in Nigeria, on behalf of diverse and vulnerable constituencies especially women, and the rural poor.

Delivery The outputs from the proposed link are delivered by the partners in Lancaster and Uyo, to specific and targeted groups of stakeholders including NGOs and community-based voluntary organisations through action research; education and communication.
