Formed in 2000, the Geography of Leisure and Tourism Research Group (GLTRG) is one of the most recent and vibrant editions to the RGS-IBG.
The key aims of the GLTRG are:
- to advance and promote geographical research and knowledge in leisure and tourism.
- to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences amongst university academics, practitioners and other researchers with an active interest in the area.
- to support postgraduate research.
- to disseminate information in the form of a news letter, Journeys and through a comprehensive website.
- to effect publications.
- to organise meetings and conferences in the UK and Overseas.
