Geography of Health

The Geography of Health Research Group (GHRG) is a lively and supportive network for all those interested in research in geography of health and health care. Always pleased to welcome new members, their main activities include:

  meetings, bringing together researchers in geography of health and health care nationally and internationally

  well-established bi-annual International Medical Geography Symposium

  supporting postgraduates working in geography of health and health care

  emailing news and conference announcements to the large network of members

News

button  Undergraduate dissertation prize 2008:

  • Awarded to Clare Gillespie, School of GeoSciences, University of Edinburgh, title: "The 'leptogenic' environment: to what extent can an affluent area be considered to reduce the risk of obesity for all its residents?"
  • Clare receives a cheque for £100, will have her dissertation abstract published in the journal Health & Place and will receive a year's annual subscription to the journal.
  • The Geography of Health Research Group is indebted to Health & Place and to the publishers, Elsevier, for their generosity in this regard.
