Formed in 2000, the Geography of Leisure and Tourism Research Group (GLTRG) is one of the most recent and vibrant editions to the RGS-IBG.
The key aims of the GLTRG are:
to advance and promote geographical research and knowledge in leisure and tourism.
to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences amongst university academics, practitioners and other researchers with an active interest in the area.
to support postgraduate research.
to disseminate information in the form of a news letter, Journeys and through a comprehensive website.
to effect publications.
to organise meetings and conferences in the UK and Overseas.
