The Sustaining Geographies project, funded by the DfES, is designed to explore and demonstrate new developments in academic thinking on national and global scale sustainable development issues and apply and embed them to the school curriculum though the development of schemes of work and resources relevant to the national curriculum and examination specifications.

The project focuses on three areas of global sustainability:

• sustainable cities
• sustainable tourism
• sustainable energies
