Run in conjunction with Geographical magazine, Young Geographer of the Year began in 2000 and has become a regular feature in many schools' calendars
The competition title is announced in January, with entries to be sent by the end of March each year. Prizes are awarded at the end of May in a ceremony at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in London.
