Exeter Carbon Observatory (ExCO) Stoke Woods

Stoke Woods is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in England. ExCO promotes better understanding of the role of forests in removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This half-day visit also covers protection of wildlife, and tours the site.

Future of national mapping – Ordnance Survey HQ

High-quality spatial information is vital to the global economy. Ordnance Survey’s mission underpins Great Britain with easy-access accurate mapping. Attendees will see techniques of spatial data gathering and OS products.

Members’ slide, map or artefacts evening

Hot and wet, hot and dry – painting rainforests and deserts

Tony recounts adventures travelling on foot, canoe or raft, deep into the rainforests of Guyana, Costa Rica and Honduras and the Death Valley, Mojave and Sonoran deserts, to paint and camp in extreme conditions.
