The Society has been promoting and disseminating new understanding of our world since 1830.
We offer a range of small grants to support research across the breadth of geography and opportunities for dissemination on new research: the activities of the 25 specialist research groups, the annual international conference – one of the largest in the world – and three leading international scholarly journals.
The postgraduate forum caters for doctoral students while the Foyle Reading Room gives access to our substantial research collections and the network lists others.
We are active advocates for geography in HE and research policy.
