Education Centre
The Education Centre was originally the drawing room of Lowther Lodge and then the Map Room of the Society for 90 years.
Totally refurbished in 2003 as part of the 'Unlocking the Archives' project, it is now equipped with audio visual and air handling systems.
Conferences
The Education Centre is a large versatile room which seats up to 100 for conferences and meetings.
Equipped with data and slide projection facilities, a PA system (with microphone) and an induction loop for the hard of hearing, the room is versatile and works well with lower numbers.
Two sets of doors lead to the adjoining hall which is used for refreshment breaks, and it also opens on to the garden terrace which it overlooks.
Capacities:
- Lecture theatre style 100
- Cabaret style 70
Audio-visual facilities:
- 35mm slide projector (Kodak Ektapro)
- Video/data projector (Barco IQ300)
- DVD Player Multi Region
- VCR (PAL and NTSC)
- Tablet PC
We recommend the use of an audio-visual technician for complex presentations.
Weddings
The Education Centre is large and airy, and seats up to 100 people for dinner. It opens onto the garden terrace and into the Main Hall.
