The Map Room is a reception room for up to 150 guests and is also suitable for dancing.

It opens directly onto the garden terrace.

Originally part of the 1930 neo-classical extension by Kennedy and Nightingale which was commissioned by the Society, its proportions mirror those of the 1870s Lowther Lodge.

It is hung with portraits of explorers and a unique 17th century Chinese map of the world.
