Advertised Calls for Papers

The conference organisers are pleased to share Calls for Papers that are being advertised relating to the conference.

Please note that each Call for Papers has its own deadline and process for submitting a paper proposal. Please read the Call for Papers carefully and direct questions to the session organisers.  Please note that this list of advertised sessions is not complete, and may also include sessions that will not be offered at conference.

Monitoring relevant geography and other mailing lists, including those of Society Research Groups, may help prospective presenters find other sessions.

The Society in no way endorses the wording or subject matter of Annual Conference sessions - titles and abstracts are the sole work of the session contacts listed.

Tips for searching/browsing Calls for Papers

  • View session details: Click on a session title to view full session details (convenors abstract, instructions for authors, deadline for submitting abstract, etc). This will open in a new window or tab (depending on your browser and settings)
  • Filter by Research Group: See all sessions sponsored and co-sponsored by a Research Group by selecting the Research Group name from a dropdown menu and click 'Search'.  The table will refresh to show the filtered list of sessions. To see all sessions again, change the dropdown to show <ALL> and click Search again
  • Search by keyword: Enter any word or phrase into the keyword box and click 'Search'.  The table will refresh to show the filtered list of sessions where your keyword or phrase appears in the title, abstract or keywords list (provided by the session convenors). You can search on parts of words using %, for example searching for "geog%" will return all sessions containing words starting with 'geog', including geography, geographical, geographic, etc.
  • Sort sessions by column headings: Click on a column heading in the table to sort the list of sessions by that field. You can sort by title alphabetically, by Research Group affiliation alphabetically (please note that where more than one Research Group is affiliated to a session they are listed in alphabetical order), or sort by the deadline for submitting an abstract

Add your Call for Papers

All session organisers are encouraged to submit their Call for Papers to the conference organisers, to be added to the conference database and be advertised here. Advertising your Call for Papers helps prospective presenters to find your session, and makes other session organisers aware of sessions being proposed on similar topics.

Please forward a copy of your Call for Papers to AC2013@rgs.org. Your Call for Papers should include the following information:

  • The title of the proposed session (please keep session titles to 15 words or fewer where possible)
  • A short abstract for the session (please try to keep abstracts to 300 words or fewer)
  • Names, affiliations and email addresses of the session organisers
  • Instructions for prospective presenters on submitting their paper proposal (what information they should send and to whom)
  • Deadline for submitting paper proposals
