Members and Fellows are asked to bring their membership card as identification upon arrival. Doors open at 5.30pm (the Ondaatje Theatre will remain closed until this time) and lectures begin promptly at 6.30pm. To avoid disappointment, it is recommended that attendees arrive by 6.15pm.
There is no need to book in advance to attend the Monday evening lectures, seats are offered on a first come, first served basis.
Lectures that are expected to be very popular are identified as balloted in the event listing and these lectures require prior application to be entered into the ballot for a ticket.
On some occasions, it is possible for members and Fellows to bring one guest to lectures – please check the list of lectures or the Bulletin in advance. Members' guests are invited to give a donation of £5 for attending a lecture. Any guests arriving separately should be met by members and Fellows at the Exhibition Road entrance – we regret that we are not able to take names on the door.
Attendees are requested to take their seats in the Ondaatje Theatre by 6.20pm when a second bell will be rung to indicate that all attendees should be seated – the pay bar will stop serving between 6.20pm and 6.35pm. The Society reserves the right to place attendees in unoccupied seats after 6.20pm (on a first come, first served basis).
Latecomers will be asked to sit in the overflow room where there is a video link facility.
Should you need to leave prior to the end of the questions, please do so quietly to avoid disturbing the lecture.
