About Monday night lectures

The Society organises lectures on Monday evenings for our members and their guests.

Lectures regularly attract between 500 and 750 people every week. Both fun and educative, lectures are for geography enthusiasts.

There are three main categories of lectures:

  • peoples, places and cultures
  • expedition, adventure and fieldwork
  • popular human and physical geographical sciences.

Members are asked to bring their membership card as identification. Lectures begin at 18.30 sharp. To avoid disappointment, it is recommended you arrive by 18.15.

Latecomers will be asked to sit in the overflow room where there is a video link facility.

There is no need to book in advance to attend the Monday evening lectures.
Some of the events are so popular, however, that there is a ballot for places - this will be clearly identified as balloted by the event listing. It is possible to bring one guest to lectures -  this is specified in the listing below. These  Members' guests are invited to give a donation of £5 for attending a lecture.

To call the events office please telephone: T +44 (0) 20 7591 3100

20,000 attend our lectures each year
