Work experience is an excellent way to find out what careers you are interested in and improve your employment prospects.

The Society has a popular work experience programme for enthusiastic undergraduate geographers. You can find out more about the nature of the placements and how to apply here.

  • Read or download the work experience (PDF) guide to find out what you should consider when searching for work experience and how to find, apply and get the most out of placements
  • Visit the section on applications and interviews for help if you are required to make a formal application for work experience
  • If you are an undergraduate student considering a future career in teaching geography, you might be eligible to apply for our Geography Teacher Training Scholarship programme, offered in conjunction with the Department for Education.
