Since 1832, our prestigious medals and awards have recognised excellence in geographical research and fieldwork, teaching and public engagement.
Nominations should consist of a completed nomination form (which includes a statement of 200-300 words outlining why the candidate should receive the award), a curriculum vitae (CV) of the nominee, and the written support of two or three additional Fellows or members of the Society. Supporters to the nomination should submit their letters of support (200-300 words) to the Society independently of the proposer. The membership numbers of the proposer and supporters should be included in all correspondence.
It is important that the proposer's statement pays attention to the remit of the specific award.
All nomination materials, including letters from the supporting members/Fellows should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by the nomination deadline of 5.00pm on Monday 24 February 2020.
Refer to the full nomination guidelines for further information on the nomination proccess, including whether two or three supporting letters are required.
