An afternoon workshop to assist health professionals who wish to practice expedition or wilderness medicine. Open to doctors and medical students, early career wilderness medics and nurses.
Expedition medicine offers an exciting opportunity to combine your medical skills with travel, field research and exploration. This gathering is intended to share experiences and encourage best practice.
Formal presentations will be followed by a bar for networking and discussions with other attendees.

The workshop is hosted by members of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Expedition Medicine Advisory Group. As a collective of experienced expedition medical professionals who have travelled far and wide, they are looking forward to sharing their experiences, so that particpants can be better prepared when staring out as expedition medics.

British Standard 8848 specifies operational requirements for providers of overseas ventures. This workshop will assist those using the standard to benchmark existing safety management systems within their own organisations.

A must for those involved in planned visits in the UK or overseas, this course looks at the safety management issues involved in planning, managing and evaluating local visits, fieldtrips, residentials and exchanges.

This course gives EVCs at all schools the opportunity to look into current material in more depth and share good practice with other EVCs.
