Procedures for safeguarding pupils on educational visits are constantly evolving. It is recommended that trained Educational Visits Coordinators revalidate their knowledge and skills by attending an EVC update course approximately every three years.
This course will bring trained EVCs up-to-date with current health and safety issues relevant to school visits and give them an opportunity to network with experienced EVCs from other schools to share best practice around both policies and implementation of visits both in the UK and abroad.
This course is run in conjunction with the Independent Schools Adventure Activities Association (ISAAA) and is primarily for independent foundation schools and academies as many local authorities have provision for EVC training for their schools. However, if this is not the case for your school, you are most welcome to attend this course.
The number of places on the course is capped at 16 to allow discussion. Feedback from previous courses has been excellent.
Topics that will be covered during the course include:
By attending this course, delegates will earn 5 CPD points which can be put towards the yearly requirement of 35 CPD points to attain Chartered Geographer status. A certificate of attendance will be given for all delegates.
No refunds on bookings cancelled less than four weeks before the course.
A must for those involved in planned visits in the UK or overseas, this course looks at the safety management issues involved in planning, managing and evaluating local visits, fieldtrips, residentials and exchanges.
