9 November 2021
We are sorry to announce that our Ofsted Deep Dives into Geography event on the 9 November has been cancelled as the speaker for the event, Iain Freeland HMI, is no longer available.
Iain will be covering the content from this event during his CPD sessions with us in October (5 October for primary and 6 October for secondary) instead, so we would recommend that all those interested in this event consider booking onto one of those CPD events as soon as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused you.
The Education Inspection Framework was introduced in September 2019 and is used by Ofsted to evaluate school effectiveness in England. Iain Freeland HMI will guide participants through the inspection process and the deep dive approach, focussing specifically on Deep Dives into Geography.
Iain Freeland is Her Majesty’s Inspector and Ofsted’s subject lead for geography. Iain leads a range of work within Ofsted on geography education, including training inspectors and carrying out reviews of research and inspection evidence. He liaises with professional organisations, including the Society. Iain also leads inspections of schools and initial teacher education partnerships. Prior to joining Ofsted, Iain served as a senior leader in a number of schools in Cornwall and Devon. Most recently he was an executive director of a multi-academy trust. Iain is a Society Fellow and a member of the Society's Education Committee.
