7.00pm-8.00pm
In this online session, we will be asking geography teachers to share their ideas and innovations with the teacher community.
Teachmeets are a great way to find out what fellow teachers are doing in the classroom and beyond. Delegates will be able to view around six individual sessions from a variety of geography teachers, and take away a range of ideas, resources and experiences. A great way to mingle with the geographical community online!
Programme
Amy Case, Latymer Upper School - Teaching with GIS
Alasdair Monteith, Gordonstoun School - Not really the geography of the UK: using a greater range of places for case studies at KS4 and 5
Sophie Wilson, St Mary's University, Twickenham - Gi-Pedagogy - innovative pedagogies for teaching with GIS
Matthew Williams, Old Swinford Hospital School - Holistic retrieval
Fiona Sheriff, Kingsthorpe College - UK Polar Network - bring the polar regions to your classroom
Catherine McGeown, Moorside High School - Should we teach our students about their local area? (and if so, how do we do it?)
We are asking geography teachers to either register as a delegate (a viewer of the session) or as a speaker (to present a short session during the event). We have now filled all of our speaker slots for this event. If you wish to be added to our speaker reserve list, please email Claire at c.brown@rgs.org with your name, school name and title of your talk and she will contact you should a speaker space become available.
Delegates will be sent details of how to access the event approximately a week before the event. If this email does not reach you, please contact us before the day of the event.
This event has limited numbers, so by booking a space and subsequently not attending you are preventing another teacher from participating. Please only book if you are sure you will be attending.
