Free for all teachers
TeachChats are an informal way to find out more about a variety of aspects associated with teaching geography. This session we will be looking at how best to embed careers education into your teaching in a meaningful and useful way, linking it to curriculum topics and encouraging your students to think about taking geography to the next level and beyond. Our speakers will provide the following:
Information about ‘messaging’ around geography careers and how to weave this messaging into your teaching
How to talk to your students about the skills gained through geography in relation to the world of work
Resources and career profiles to use with your students, highlighting the range of jobs that geographers do
Find out more about our free Geography Ambassadors Programme, where we send geographers into your classroom to talk about where geography can take your students
Hear more about options for your own professional development and the resources the Society offers to help you progress your career
About the speakers
Dr Stephanie Wyse, Professional and Policy Manager, Royal Geographical Society with IBG
