Record-breaking adventurer, Adrian Hayes, details the deeply moving story of the beauty and brutality of life, and death, on the world’s notorious second highest mountain. In this visually stunning presentation, Adrian details his intensely personal account of his attempts to climb K2 in 2013 and again in 2014, and the story behind his latest book, One Man’s Climb: A Journey of Trauma, Tragedy and Triumph on K2 – a book which is as much a lesson in human development, real teamwork, social conscience and our lives in the world below as it is a story of climbing the ‘Savage Mountain’.
Adrian will be holding book signings following the presentation. Adrian Hayes is a British adventurer, author, keynote speaker, leadership and team consultant & coach, documentary presenter and sustainability campaigner. An Arabic and Nepalese speaking former British Army Gurkha Officer, who also spent two years in the Special Forces, he has two Guinness World Records for polar expeditions to his name, has featured in three documentaries, and is also the author of Footsteps of Thesiger, an account of his 44-day journey across the Arabian Desert.
