An opportunity for Year 12 pupils who are considering geography as a career option to find out more about the subject and progression. Our Geography Ambassadors and guest speakers will run a day of informative sessions at the Society in London on a wide range of subjects relating to geography.
Going Places is a conference event led by the RGS-IBG Geography Ambassador Scheme to get students excited about, and widen perspectives on, where studying geography can take you. On the day we will also have speakers from the professional world discussing their current roles and why geography is important in what they do. The event is bound to be a useful and informative day as it includes a mixture of talks from undergraduates, postgraduates and people in work to reflect where geography can take you.
The event is free for members and there is a charge of £5 for non-members.
Students are advised to bring their own lunch.
[Cancelled] These events provide sixth form students with the experience to bridge the gap between school and university and explore what studying geography at university level is like.
