Claire is the Senior Director, Europe and the Middle East at the National Geographic Society, with a remit to identify, support and grow the community of National Geographic explorers and grantees in the region.
Dave Lucas
Dave Lucas is an expedition guide and safety and security specialist with over 28 years of international field experience in more than 110 countries. Dave’s work spans guiding expeditions, supporting TV and film productions, leading complex projects, and assisting high-profile individuals.
Julian Martin
Julian oversaw the Society’s grants programme, which supports upwards of 60 fieldwork projects each year, undertaken by independent travelers, students, early career researchers and teachers, across six continents.
Nigel Winser
Nigel has had a career directing interdisciplinary research and learning programmes in Africa, the Middle East and Asia to support conservation and sustainable development priorities.
Sarah Henton De Angelis
Sarah Henton De Angelis is the Grants Officer for the Royal Geographical Society.
Shane Winser
Shane convenes the RGS Explore Weekend and provides advice, information and training to hundreds of scientific, educational, and adventurous expeditions each year.
Tom Allen
Tom is the Society's Expeditions and Fieldwork Manager. He is an explorer, author, trail prospector and responsible travel advocate specialising in the Caucasus and Armenia, as well a past recipient of the RGS Land Rover Bursary.
