The Society accredits undergraduate and master’s degree programmes in geography across the UK. Receiving accreditation signals to students and employers the quality of a department’s teaching, learning and professional development activities.
Currently, 154 programmes across 55 universities are accredited and accreditation normally last for six years. The next deadline for our programme accreditation scheme is Friday 30 September.
From September, we will start to asses undergraduate degrees against the QAA’s 2022 Subject Benchmark Statement for geography. The statement defines what can be expected of a geography graduate and has been updated to reflect recent developments in the discipline.
