The RGS-IBG Postgraduate Forum’s 2020 Midterm Conference takes place between 30 April – 1 May and the call for papers is now open.
The conference will be held at the University of Glasgow, and is an excellent opportunity for PhD students at an early stage in their research to present their work and meet others working in related fields. With a friendly and supportive environment, the Postgraduate Midterm Conference is a great way for delegates to get feedback on their work, network with others and practice their presentation skills.
If you are interested in presenting a paper or poster, please send a 250 word abstract, along with four keywords, your full name and university affiliation to firstname.lastname@example.org by 13 December.
Registration for the conference will open in February 2020 and there will be opportunities for postgraduates to apply for bursaries, facilitated by RGS-IBG Research Groups, to attend.

Each November the Society hosts Explore, a weekend for anyone aspiring to undertake original geographical field research, plan a conservation project or travel with a purpose.
Geography and geographers play an integral role in ensuring that communities reduce the risk of their exposure to natural disasters, from earthquakes and volcanic eruptions to flooding and drought.
Congratulations to our Fellows who were awarded Chartered Geographer status last month.
