New co-editors are being sought for the Society’s book series and two of our academic journals, Area and The Geographical Journal.
Our book series and journal editors are internationally recognised scholars with a broad interest in the full range of research being undertaken in geography. They work alongside their co-editors and are responsible for encouraging submissions, as well as actively promoting and contributing to the strategic development of their publications.
Area is an outlet for new ideas and debates. The journal publishes high quality research on all aspects of both physical and human geography, and welcomes submissions from postgraduates and early career researchers.
The Geographical Journal publishes papers from across the entire breadth of the discipline, with a particular focus on public debates and policy-orientated agendas. First published in 1831, historically it has been the journal of record of the Society.
The RGS-IBG book series publishes work of the highest international standing. Focused on distinctive new developments in human and physical geography, contributions are expected to change the way readers think about particular issues, methods or theories.
Applications for the positions, the terms for which are ordinarily five years, should include a letter of interest with associated plans for the journal or book series, a CV and names of two referees who can provide letters of support. Please send your application to Dr Catherine Souch by Friday 21 June.
