To coincide with Antarctica Day, the Society is delighted to launch our new online Antarctic Album designed for pupils, teachers and parents to learn more about Antarctica and its adjacent ocean, the Weddell Sea.
The digital album of collectable images is available to download for free from the Microsoft, Google Play and Apple App stores. We recommend using this on a tablet or computer.
Each week from now until the spring term, we will be posting Antarctic snapshots on our Instagram channel containing unique passwords that unlock a wealth of information and educational digital content across five themed interactives. These span Antarctic life, Antarctic tourism, marine life, global governance, and the Weddell Sea. The first snapshot and password will be released today.
Additional resources on Antarctica are also available for teachers through the publication of each of the five new educational interactives. These can be used to connect their classrooms with the world’s coldest, windiest and driest continent.
These resources are part of the Society’s Discovering the Weddell Sea programme, which builds on our education programme that accompanied the 2019 Weddell Sea Expedition. The project is funded by the Flotilla Foundation.
