We are pleased to announce that nominations for positions on the RGS-IBG Postgraduate Forum Committee 2020-2021 are now open. Current postgraduate students are warmly encouraged to consider standing for one of the 10 vacant roles. Candidates should be current Postgraduate Fellows of the Society, or ready to apply for Fellowship once elected.
The Postgraduate Forum (PGF) exists to represent postgraduates from across geography and beyond. Its activities are led by an elected committee of postgraduates of the Society who each serve for a one year term, and who work to deliver a programme of events, resources and support.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with the work of the Postgraduate Forum and to help to shape the support that the Society provides to its postgraduate members and community. This year in particular, with in-person events postponed or cancelled, the PGF are focusing their energies on an online programme of activity, PGF@Home, helping to build a community of postgraduates online and offer opportunities and resources for professional development.
Full details of the vacant positions and how to stand for election are on the PGF website, along with testimonials from serving committee members outlining what they’ve gained from their time on the PGF committee.
Nominations close on Thursday 14 May. Committee members will then be elected by online vote. Voting will open on Friday 15 May and close at midday BST on Friday 29 May.
