Following the launch of the Locus Charter earlier this year, the Society and Association for Geographic Information (AGI) are running a series of joint webinars which bring together geospatial practitioners to explore key issues in putting location data ethics into practice.
The Locus Charter is a set of common international principles that can guide responsible practice when using location data, and sets out key areas where attention can improve standards, help protect vulnerable groups, and safeguard individual privacy and public interest.
The webinar series, which starts on Tuesday 6 July, explores issues such as putting data ethics into practice on a day-to-day basis, the costs and benefits of using location data and making informed decisions about what is reasonable and fair, and how organisations are building trust when it comes to the use of location data. Each event is an opportunity to hear from an expert panel, but also for attendees to share their own experiences and use of location data.
