The Society is delighted to announce a new grant scheme to support school fieldwork and expeditions.
The Frederick Soddy Schools Award is part of a new set of grants, the Frederick Soddy Awards, created this year after the Frederick Soddy Trust became a linked charity of the RGS-IBG. From 2019, several grants of £200 to £600 will be offered every year to teachers leading groups of secondary level pupils, from UK and Ireland schools. Preference will be given to fieldwork projects that take place within the United Kingdom and Ireland and involve a strong element of human geography.
The deadline for submitting an application to the Frederick Soddy Schools Award is 18 January 2019. Successful groups will be announced in March.
