Schools all over the world are enjoying the benefits of School Membership of the Society. For just £95 for an annual membership, you, your department, and your students could access our huge bank of award-winning teaching resources, online lectures, resources to accompany our podcast, and more – so why not join them?
Linked to the curriculum and examination requirements, our teaching resources include case studies, worksheets, animations, interactive resources, and posters, as well as activities and subject knowledge information to accompany our popular podcast series Ask the Geographer. Our dedicated resources writer, Harri, ensures our resources cover the latest geographical themes and events, and are relevant to your pupils’ work at each Key Stage – saving you time and effort in refreshing your own resources.
“We love the teaching resources by the way, they have been an enormous help to our staff.”
School Members also benefit from access to up to three dedicated in-person lectures per year, run specifically for School Member students and linked directly to curriculum themes.
Membership also provides schools with online and on-demand access to the Society’s popular Monday night lectures, which attract the biggest names in geography and exploration, as well as our rich and varied schools events programme, which includes dedicated events for students such as our popular A Level study day and Going places with geography events, with discounts for School Members.
As a School Member, you’ll also receive up to 40% off our continuing professional development (CPD) courses and events for teachers – ranging from fieldwork and GIS support to subject knowledge updates and EVC training.
Other discounts available to School Members include reduced Fellowship and Chartered Geographer application fees, and money off at retailers such as Cotswold Outdoor and Stanfords, and on Philips Atlases.
Joining our network of School Members has never been easier – simply fill in the form online at www.rgs.org/smjoin and either pay via card at the point of joining or request an invoice to be paid later. School Members receive regular updates about the Society’s work with schools and we are proud to have involved many of our School Members in projects, CPD and resource writing over the years.
