The Society has recently launched a new membership category, Associate Fellowship, to enable us to better support geographers within their first five years after graduation and to support geography in professional practice. As part of this support we're now offering two new series of online events, specifically tailored for early career geographers.
The new Professional Insights event series offers regular, free webinars to provide opportunities for Associate Fellows to learn from, and ask questions of, experienced geography professionals from a wide range of sectors and career paths. Topics range from areas of professional best practice and approaches to career development, to specific applications of geography such as the use and impact of geovisualisations:
4 May: Developing your professional CV
9 June: An introduction to planning and reflecting on your CPD journey
13 July: Mentoring in your career
15 September: Developing your professional online profile
5 October: Enhancing your professional networks
15 November: How to harness the power of geovisualisations
All of these events are open to our Associate Fellows, Fellows and Members - find out more and book now.
We are also launching a series of online meetups for Associate Fellows to give them a space to meet and network with other geography professionals at a similar career stage. Find out more about upcoming meetups and book via our events programme.
Learn more about our full range of support for geographers in the workplace - from career resources and events, to our Chartered Geographer professional accreditation - and sign up for our monthly Professional News and Events mailing.
