As announced in June, Dr Rita Gardner CBE will be stepping down as Director in April 2018. The Society is now searching for a new Director.
The appointment panel, co-chaired by Nicholas Crane and immediate past president Dame Judith Rees, with past presidents Lord Selborne and Sir Ron Cooke, working with the Executive Committee and with Council, have begun the search and Perrett Laver has been appointed to lead the recruitment process.
If Fellows and members wish to suggest names of people or ‘person-profiles’ to be considered for the role as advertised they can do so by emailing RGS-IBGDirector@perrettlaver.com and including their Fellowship/membership number and name. We kindly ask for suggestions to be sent by 25 September 2017. We anticipate that the recruitment process will be complete in December, and an announcement of the new Director will be made at the earliest opportunity.
The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is a registered charity.
