We are delighted to announce that the Society won a Highly Commended 2022 GA Publishers’ Award for our 39 ways to save the planet resources, written to accompany the BBC Radio 4 series.
We are also finalists in the Education Resources Awards 2022 for our Ask the Geographer podcast series and Stay Home Stories resources. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 6 May.
The Ask the Geographer podcasts bring the latest in geographical research from a host of experts direct to the classroom. To supplement these free-to-listen podcasts, a series of resources and learning activities, glossaries of key terms, and further reading, is available for School Members.
In the Stay Home Stories resources, we explore how children might perceive and map their homes, their lived experiences within them and also in their home neighbourhood and local area. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Stay Home Stories has three interconnected strands: Documenting Home, Practising Home, and Mapping Home.
There are five themes for our accompanying resources, each of which can be undertaken separately or as part of a longer unit. All of these themes have activities suitable for Key Stages 1 and 2.
